13th June

Its supposed to be a quieter time at the moment but still seems to be masses to do. Most of the horses are out enjoying some down time, although not loving the heavy rain last week!

The grass is great after the much needed rain and there are plenty whose figures are going to take a bit of getting back once they are back in at the end of the month!

Its been a nerve wracking few days getting a few that have been on box rest out, however much preparation you do with the walker, small paddocks and sleepy dust, the day still comes when an injured one that has been on box rest has to head to the field for a time out with 'Dr Green'! You just hope that all the patience and walking are not all undone in a bout of over enthusiastic galloping! the few we got out however where just delighted to get their heads down for a good munch and a good roll! Lovely to see them out again.

Poor Thomas Crapper not allowed that luxury yet and still confined to barracks, and will be for a good while yet. The girls are picking him grass every day and he is being a very good patient (mostly!). Its a waiting game with him now to let the fracture heal before we start some physio with him.

The team getting some down time in too. Megan breathing a huge sigh of relief after her OU law end of year exams over, and a few days in Cornwall for her. The others coming and going and fitting time off around the dozen or so horses that are still in work.

Great to have Storming Harry back in training after missing a long while after picking up a tendon strain when winning at Lingfield - Jenny & Nigel Thick have given him plenty of time and he runs at Chepstow on Friday.

Another new arrival is Young Cheddar for Georgie Howell & Tabitha Worsley, and also Letsfacethemusic for Louise Merry. Looking forward to both of them running shortly.

The last of the power washing nearly finished - no ones favourite job, but an annual necessity.

Runners at Worcester tomorrow, and possibly Uttoxeter on Thursday, then Chepstow on Friday.
