Our Sponsors -
C Beech (Steel) Ltd.
Since the introduction of the owners VAT reclamation scheme it has been necessary for all owners to have sponsorship for their horses. This is either on an individual basis or under a yard sponsorship scheme. For the last few seasons C Beech (Steel) Ltd has been our yard sponsor. Cliff Beech has been a patron of the yard for a number of years, and we and all of our owners welcome this added support. C. Beech (Steel) Ltd is a family company established in 1960.
The company business is in steel stockholding, and occupies the site and buildings at Netherton, Dudley, formerly owned by N Hingley & Sons Ltd, at the time the world's premier manufacturer of ship's anchors and chains to all the navies and merchant fleets in the world.
This Black Country firm was famous for making the large bow anchor of the ill-fated Titanic, in 1911. The anchor, weighing in at 16 tons of steel, was carted to the nearest railway line by a team of 20 shire horses, en route to the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast.
